Peace, Justice & Development brings together KABC work that strengthens community resilience through peacebuilding, livelihood development, community capacity building, advocacy, networking, alliance building, gender mainstreaming, climate awareness, and anti-human trafficking education documented in the 2021-2024 activity reports.

SCADNEI second phase begins amid COVID-19 restrictions
After movement restrictions affected January-June 2021 activity, PJD began orientation, COVID-19 intervention, vaccination awareness, and CBO leader coordination.

Village transformation and CBO/PO strengthening continue
Activities included CBO consultations, Sports for Peace, organic farming and silkworm rearing, and community development capacity building.

Livelihood, rights, climate, leadership, and gender activities expand
Reports document local food processing, SHG awareness, RTI awareness, book keeping, leadership training, fish rearing, gender equality, and collective livelihood models.

Mushroom rearing and village transformation continue
PJD continued practical livelihood learning and village transformation capacity building while documenting the Anti-Human Trafficking awareness programme held in October 2023.

KABC SCADNEI Office
Project staff, CBO leaders, and KABC leaders reviewed the second phase proposal, goals, indicators, village-level issue engagement, problem tree analysis, and the roadmap for issue-based advocacy.

COVID-19 Intervention and Vaccination Awareness

Chek Artu and selected villages in Rongkhang Block
PJD activity supported awareness on COVID-appropriate behaviour, vaccination confidence, cooperation with district administration and health workers, and practical support for affected families.

CBO Leaders Meet

Thirty-seven leaders from 13 CBOs met for sessions on current issues and challenges, self-sustainable plans, and second phase project objectives.

A 15-month training programme for 60 community development workers covered food security, water sanitation, micro business for self-reliance, education, health, legal awareness, and social transformation.

Sports for Peace cum Social Awareness Program

Artubonglong School Playground, Jengkha, West Karbi Anglong
Ten CBOs gathered for sports, peacebuilding, gender mainstreaming, child marriage awareness, adolescent empowerment, and social awareness, with around 300 people participating.

Organic Farming and Silkworm Rearing Training

Langhut
Participants learned about silk, silkworm rearing, related schemes, and practical rearing measures. The report records seven households beginning silkworm rearing after the training.

The three-day programme helped participants understand forms of trafficking, methods used by traffickers, signs of trafficking, impacts on affected people, and safe steps for intervention.
