Governance

Serving communities through faith, education, social action, and leadership formation.

Governance at a Glance

KABC governance is shared through complementary representative responsibilities. The bodies below serve together to support direction, operations, statutory accountability, and elected leadership.

General Body, Executive Committee, Governing Body, and Leadership Team carry complementary responsibilities rather than a simple vertical hierarchy.

How Responsibility Is Shared

Our governance structure encourages participation, transparency, responsible decision-making, and cooperation among churches and associations. It helps ensure that the Convention remains faithful to its mission while serving its churches and communities with integrity.

Rather than concentrating responsibility in a single office or body, governance is shared through representative bodies, each entrusted with distinct responsibilities that together provide direction, accountability, and responsible leadership.

  • General Body: the highest decision-making authority of KABC, representing the individual members and considering major matters affecting the life, direction, and constitutional responsibilities of the Convention.
  • Executive Committee: operational decision-making, planning, oversight, programmes, projects, and internal committees between meetings of the General Body.
  • Governing Body: the Convention's legal-facing representative body for legal documents, banking signatories, statutory responsibility, and related legal matters.

Within the leadership team, the General Secretary serves as the principal operational coordinator, working with the secretaries listed below. This relationship diagram does not replace the General Body, Executive Committee, or Governing Body responsibilities shown above.

Working Together

The strength of the Karbi Anglong Baptist Convention lies not only in its governance structure, but also in the shared commitment of its churches, associations, leaders, volunteers, and members.

By sharing responsibility through representative leadership, we seek to strengthen our churches, encourage one another, serve our communities, and remain accountable to those we serve.

Good governance helps the Convention make responsible decisions, care well for its responsibilities, and serve churches and communities with integrity.
